Don't Pretend to Be Diligent

Recently, I came across a saying: “Don’t pretend to be diligent; true diligence is purposeful effort.”

Learning knowledge, improving skills, and exercising—all of these require purposeful effort, not blind busyness.

True diligence is planned action, not aimless consumption of time.

If the knowledge we learn cannot be applied, cannot be used to solve real problems, cannot be used to improve ourselves, or cannot be transformed into wealth, then this knowledge is essentially useless to us, at least for now.

Therefore, don’t pretend to be diligent; be truly committed to meaningful effort.
