The First Watermelon of Summer

I finally had the first watermelon of the summer today, and it was delicious! Plus, it’s the weekend, so I’m in a particularly good mood.

I remember the watermelons I ate as a child. Back then, the only way to get watermelon was when the tractor that sold vegetables in the village came by. My parents would trade grain for it.

I remember those watermelons being so sweet and juicy. After we finished eating, we would even use the rind to wipe our mouths, haha.

Although today’s watermelon was also delicious, I feel like it was missing that pure taste. Maybe it’s because happiness was so simple when I was a child. Eating a watermelon could make me happy for the whole day.

The pace of life is too fast now. Everyone is busy with work and study, and they seem to have forgotten to enjoy the pleasures of life.

However, today’s watermelon still reminded me of those beautiful memories. Eating watermelon and enjoying the air conditioning, everything feels so wonderful. I hope there will be more moments like this in the future, allowing me to relive those simple joys.
